Arlene Hittle

ArleneHittle1Arlene Hittle grew up in northern Indiana and now makes her home in Prescott, Ariz., with two cats (nicknamed Princess and Shithead) and a dog. She suffers from the well-documented Hittle family curse of being a Cubs fan but will root for the Diamondbacks until they run up against the Cubs. Longtime friends are amazed she writes books with sports in them, since she’s about as coordinated as a newborn giraffe and used to say marching band required more exertion than golf.

She is a member of Northern Arizona Romance Writers of America and currently serves as the chapter’s president. She has a B.S. in journalism from the University of Evansville (Indiana) and has worked in the newspaper industry as a reporter or copy editor/page designer since 1994.

But she’s been a writer much longer than that. In second grade, prompted by Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books, she started filling her great-grandpa’s giant sketchbook with story after story. Most of them were about little girls who found puppies, because she wanted one. She didn’t get that puppy until she was out on her own. She did, however, know early on she wanted to entertain others with her fiction.

Now she has several books to her credit, including Blind Date Bride (Reality TV Bites #1), Just Right (And They Lived Happily Ever After #1), and the All’s Fair in Love & Baseball series, starting with Diva in the Dugout and Beauty and the Ballplayer. Coming soon: the re-release of Sliding into Home and a brand-new Arizona Condors story, Ogling the Outfielder. That lifelong ambition to tell stories is on its way to fulfillment.
